Miniature pigs do ok living outside. They do need special care and attention as these are not animals meant for harsh weather changes. No matter where your pig lives it must have suitable shelter, access to clean fresh water, and a suitable sized and safe enclosure. Pigs are social creatures so if your pig is going to live outside they do better in small groups for both warmth and social interaction. click here for more information.
Remember pigs are HIGHLY intelligent! In hot weather your pig will need a small child pool (or a mud pit), a fan, shade, and bug spray (must be livestock/animal safe) and sunscreen. In cold weather you pig will need an insulated house, no drafts, heat lamp, blankets and straw and of course water at all times (use a heated water bowl so water does NOT freeze). Keep in mind pigs do not have fur.
